Metro Phase Four project is approved



Mumbai Metropolitan Development Authority approved the Phase IV of Metro that would connect Thane to Wadala. The route is through LBS road and Eastern Express Highway. The metro work of Phase III is already under way as the work was scheduled to start in January 2016. In the meantime the approval for the Phase IV of Mumbai metro has been approved. The meeting was held which was chaired by the Chief Minister Mr. Devendra Fadnavis who has given due clearance after seeing the details of the project in the detailed Project Report (DPR). The detailed Project Report was prepared by the Delhi Metro Railway Corporation (DMRC) for the 32 km stretch of Wadala-Ghatkopar-Thane-Kawarvadavali which is the 4th phase of metro railway of Mumbai.  
The joint project director of MMRDA, Mr. Dilip Kawathkar said the Metro Phase IV project will be completed at the estimated total cost of Rs. 14, 549 crores. The aim is to complete the construction of Phase IV by the year 2021. He also said that they have recommended the Phase IV project for due final approval to the state government as the first phase of approval by MMRDA is already over. He also reiterated in his statement that this project of the Metro Phase IV has been for the city of Mumbai to have better connectivity for the people of the areas like Thane to the main city. He also added that this new connectivity which is fast as well, will impact on the spree of development in and around the area of Thane.
This Phase IV of Mumbai metro will be having 32 stations and would start from Bhakti Park Metro station and would continue to the LBS road close to Shreya cinema through the places like Eastern Express Highway, Wadala and also Garodia Nagar.
